Q: Why should I consider purchasing the Hunter Safety System?
A: The HSS Design has changed how hunters view safety harnesses. These safety systems have become the safest, most comfortable, and easiest-to-use harnesses on the market-BAR NONE!. Our patented designs offer hunters conveniences that no other harness can give. These include having NO hanging or dangling straps, saddle style leg straps for comfort should a fall occur, full adjustability for light or heavy clothing, and unrestricted mobility in a treestand like no other harness can offer.
Q: What makes the Hunter Safety System safer than other harnesses?
A: There are several answers; however, the main one is the ease with which it goes on and the comfort factor while wearing it. Because of this, hunters are more likely to use the Hunter Safety System instead of leaving their harness at home or in the truck.
Q: What are some of the features of the Hunter Safety System?
A: While there are numerous unique features to every HSS harness, some of the most notable are: HSS models give you as many as 8 pockets, easy, quick-snap buckles, which eliminate any dangling straps that might interfere with a bow string, a deer drag that allows you to easily remove your trophy from the woods, a tether designed to cushion the sudden stop associated with a fall, light weight material and the first-rate quality associated with every Hunter Safety System product.
Q: Is this the safety harness being shown so often on television and in magazines?
A: Yes! Outdoor writers, professional hunters and hunting TV personalities know that with just one fall from a treestand, their careers may well be over and their lives changed forever. While these outdoor writers and TV celebrities can wear any harness they choose, Hunter Safety System harnesses are worn because of the many benefits they offer.
Q: Is it difficult to learn everything about the Hunter Safety System?
A: No, there are three sets of instructions included with every safety system. Two of these are written instructions with photos, and one is complete on DVD. Anyone can use the HSS harness within seconds of viewing these instructions.
Q: Is it really important that hunters wear the Hunter Safety System?
A: Yes. According to two studies in recent years, far more hunters die from treestand falls than gunshots. Each time a hunter falls from a treestand to tragic results, his/her family, friends and loved ones are affected as well. Every treestand hunter owes it to their wives, husbands, children, mothers, fathers and everyone around them to STAY SAFE and wear a Hunter Safety System every time they’re in a treestand!!!!
Q: Does the Hunter Safety System offer any accessories that aid hunters any further?
A: Absolutely! While HSS offers a complete line of quality accessories, our best selling ones are the Life Line, which keeps the hunter connected to the tree from the moment he/she leaves the ground to the moment of return and the Quick- Connect Tree Strap and Rope Style tree strap which allows quick, quiet connections to the tree.
Q: What is the warranty on the Hunter Safety System Vest/Harness?
A: There is a one year parts and labor warranty. The harness will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of HSS within the one year period. To maintain the safest harness possible the harness must be replaced after five years or arresting a fall.
Q: Do I have to purchase a new safety system if I fall?
A: No. Call the Hunter Safety System office at 1-877-296-3528 and speak to a staff member if your harness arrested a fall.
Q: Is the Hunter Safety System washable?
A: Yes. We recommend that it be hand washed in scent-free soap and line dried.
Q: How long is the tree strap?
A: The tree strap is 64-inch long. Longer straps can be custom ordered by calling the HSS office at (256)773-7732.
Q: What is the 1″ black strap that came with my safety system?
A: That is the Suspension Relief/Deer Drag strap that can be used to relieve suspension trauma after a fall or for dragging game out of the woods. This strap should NEVER be used as a tree strap to secure you to the tree.
Q: Why is the tether folded like it is and sewn?
A: Those folds act as a shock absorber by tearing out in the event of a fall helping to cushion the impact of the sudden stop.
